Communion Season in Ballyclare & Doagh

Date: Tuesday, 26 April 2016
Author: Rev E Trevor Kirkland

At our recent Communion in Ballyclare & Doagh we were privileged to sit under the ministry of Rev Murdo A MacLeod, Snizort, Skye.

In his sermon on the Friday Mr Macleod dealt with the marks of grace. This was followed by a time of fellowship when questions regarding assurance, doubts and faith were carefully and judiciously handled. Rev David Silversides from Loughbrickland was in attendance and gave additional spiritual advice on these matters.

On the Saturday Rev MacLeod brought to us the word 'remember' in Psalm 42. Following the worship there were three requests to meet with the Session, for which we rejoiced.

The Sabbath services were very well attended, with almost forty souls both morning and evening. Fellowship in the hall was followed by more in the home.

We are thankful as a people for both the ministry of Rev MacLeod and for the blessing of the communion season itself. We also had our friends from the Portavogie mission station, who were struck by the simplicity, order and beauty of the Communion and who look forward to when they too shall have the same, God willing.

We express our thanks to all who contributed to our fellowships, which are a vital part of our congregational life.
