Dores Youth Conference
Recently a group of young people gathered together at Dores Free Church (Continuing). The purpose of the meeting was to think about the topic "Balancing Your Priorities" in a way that honours God.
Rev Harry Woods, Beauly, gave two short addresses – one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. After each of these, the young people spent time chatting in smaller groups considering answers to a range of questions which were posed – these ranged from practical to theological.
The plenary discussions were chaired by Rev. James MacInnes, Lochalsh & Strath, and proved a useful summary of all that had been discussed. The message throughout the day was clear: "Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth" – the first priority is to seek and find the Lord. It was a thought-provoking and enjoyable day for everyone who attended, and a great opportunity for young people to meet together and consider the most important things in life.
It is hoped the next conference will be held in March, God willing.
