London Free Church (Continuing)

Date: Monday, 12 October 2015
Author: Rev Andrew R Allan

Recently while ministering south of the border, Rev William Macleod, Glasgow, was approached about starting services in London. Having thought and prayed about the proposal the Knightswood minister took the idea to his Kirk Session, who have recently wholeheartedly decided to support the work, initially for a three-month trial period.

The work will be an outreach from Knightswood and under the Knightswood Kirk Session. The Deacons’ Court have set up a London Outreach Fund to support the work. The first services will be held on the 25th of October and Rev Maurice Roberts will preach. Others, ministers, probationers, etc., are scheduled to preach in the capital on the following Sabbaths.

The venue has yet to be decided and any who are interested are urged to contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for details.

Mr Macleod commented, “Although there are a multitude of churches in London we do feel there is a desire for our solidly Reformed worship services.”

He further said, “The distinctives of the congregation will be Evangelical, Reformed, Experimental, Evangelistic, Presbyterian and warmly welcoming to all. The worship will follow the Regulative Principle – Psalm-singing without the use of instrumental music.”
