Date: Tuesday, 28 October 2014
Author: Rev Andrew R Allan

A sizeable number attended a Zambia Mission meeting held in Shettleston Free Church (Continuing), Glasgow, on Monday, to hear the Rev David Lachman give an informative and encouraging update of the work undertaken at Covenant College, Petauke, Zambia.

Mr. Lachman, along with his wife Katie and children Elijah, Ketzia and Titus, stopped off in Scotland for a few days before heading to the USA. He was able to preach in our Ayr and Shettleston congregations before undertaking this final engagement prior to leaving for the States.

Mr. Lachman, who is Vice-principal and a lecturer at Covenant College, informed the meeting that a new Principal has been appointed, the Rev George Kalengo. Mr. Kalengo, who is from Malawi, and who studied at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Michigan, will take up his post from 1st February 2015.

Mr. Lachman urged those gathered to remember the work in prayer; that he and his family would enjoy good health; that the new Principal would settle in and develop the College; that new lecturers would be found and that the students would be blessed during their time at the College and be prepared for their gospel work.
