The organisers are pleased to announce that the programme for the 70th School in Theology has been finalised.
The programme includes Historical, Missionary, and Theological subjects, along with practical papers to encourage ministers and office bearers in their labours for the Lord.
The 2023 speakers and subjects are, Rev A James MacInnes, ‘The St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre’; Rev Malcolm H Watts, ‘The Blessedness of God’; Rev Jeff Ballantine, ‘The Warning Passages in Hebrews’; Rev Ian McNaughton, ‘Structure and Themes of Ezra’; Rev Aaron Lewis, ‘Despise not the day of Small Things’; Rev E Trevor Kirkland, ‘Redemption of the Body’; and Rev David Fraser, ‘Preaching Jesus Christ’.
Also in the programme are daily prayer meetings, devotionals, book reviews and evening worship sessions, along with a missionary spot on Tuesday morning when the School will hear a report from the Presbytery of Navarre & Aragon of the encouraging work going on in the congregations of Pau (France), Braga (Portugal), and Rubi (Spain).
The School will take place from 4th to 7th September 2023 (DV) at the usual venue of Carronvale House, Larbert.
The long-established School has a reputation for being a relaxed and informal gathering where men from different ecclesiastical backgrounds gather from all over the UK and beyond to enjoy a time of stimulation, encouragement and fellowship around the Word of God in a delightful and congenial location.
Brethren are encouraged to register on the SiT website if they have not already done so. By registering the brethren will receive up-to-date information and will be able to book their place at the School online. Please go to www.schoolintheology.org.uk and follow the instructions.
Alternatively, a Booking Form may be downloaded from the site or obtained from the Secretary, Rev Andrew R Allan, 23 Kingfisher Drive, Glasgow, G13 4QA, Tel: 0141 328 1707, firstname.lastname@example.org and returned to the Secretary to book your place.
Ministers and Elders of the Free Church (Continuing) are to be encouraged to come. Essentially this is an excellent opportunity for in-service training.
The date of the 2024 School has been set for the 2nd to 5th of September 2024 (DV).
