1 April 20262026 School in Theology Programme
Carronvale House, Larbert, the home of the Free Church School in Theology.
The organisers are pleased to announce that the programme for the 72nd Free Church School in Theology has been finalised.
The programme includes historical, missionary, and theological subjects, along with practical papers to encourage ministers and office bearers in their labours for the Lord.
The 2026 speakers and subjects are, Rev E Trevor Kirkland, ‘John Brown of Haddington’; Rev Thomas Buchanan, ‘The Active & Passive Obedience of Christ’; Rev Craig Dennison, ’Preaching through Judges’; Rev Aaron Lewis, ‘Exegete 1 John 5:1-5’; Rev A James MacInnes, ‘Reformed/Evangelical Christian Piety’; Rev Graeme Craig, ‘Biblical Defence of the Second Coming’; and Rev Ian Hall, ‘The Minister’s Self-Watch’.

Also in the programme are daily prayer meetings, devotionals, book reviews, and evening worship sessions, along with a missionary spot on Tuesday morning when the School will hear from Mr Jonathan Arnold, TBS, who will speak on the 500th anniversary of Tyndale’s translation of the Bible.
The School will take place from 7th to 10th September 2026 (DV) at the usual venue of Carronvale House, Larbert.
The long-established School has a reputation for being a relaxed and informal gathering where men from different ecclesiastical backgrounds gather from all over the UK and beyond to enjoy a time of stimulation, encouragement, and fellowship around the Word of God in a delightful and congenial location.

Ministers and Elders of the Free Church (Continuing) are to be encouraged to attend. Essentially, this is an excellent opportunity for in-service training.
Mr Tim Burden, from MERF, was the missionary speaker at the 2025 School.
The date of the 2027 School has been set for the 6th to 9th of September 2027 (DV).
