The Dores Youth Conference (2024) took place on Saturday the 28th of September and was addressed by Rev. Andrew Allan, Partick. The topic of the talks was “Lessons from the Life of Joseph.”
The first talk was about Joseph as a young man and the trials he faced. It focused on how Joseph held on to the Word of God through all his hard circumstances and tribulations. God has provided us with His Word so we can hold onto His promises just like Joseph.
After the first talk, we split into groups to discuss questions about the talk and then came back together to share what was discussed. We then had lunch and went for a short walk at Dores Beach.
The title of the second talk was “Joseph as a Mature Man”. It focused on how both he and we, by walking close to the Lord, can flee from sins and temptations. Because of his devotional life, Joseph was able to resist the temptations he met throughout his life. After the talk, we went back into our groups to further discuss some more questions and gathered again to share our answers. The conference was concluded with a psalm and prayer.
The day was a great opportunity to catch up with friends but most of all a huge encouragement and very beneficial.
We want to thank Rev. Andrew Allan for his addresses and time, it was very much appreciated.
