In light of the deplorable spiritual and moral state of the Church and nation, the recent General Assembly meeting in Glasgow appoints Saturday, 27th June, to be observed as a Day of Fasting and Prayer or the nearest convenient date.
The General Assembly commended the paper on public fasting by Rev. E. Trevor Kirkland, and encourage ministers to give consideration to preaching on matters pertaining to the merits of Biblical fasting and the blessing received from it at the Lord’s Day services and midweek meetings nearest that date.
