BALLYCLARE & DOAGH
- Date Inducted: (Not applicable)
The congregation had its origins in a Baptist cause in Templepatrick, Co. Antrim, which in due time became known as Templepatrick Reformed Church.
Following an agreement to separate a party withdrew from Templepatrick Reformed Church in November 2013 and voted to reconstitute. Consideration was given to the affiliation of the new congregation and it was unanimously agreed to seek admission to the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing).
The minister and congregation applied separately through the Southern Presbytery in December 2013 and both were received into the denomination by the General Assembly in May 2014, being placed under the Home & Foreign Missions Committee, and the minister being appointed a General Assessor to the Southern Presbytery. The Southern Presbytery held a recognition service for the minister and congregation on 1st July 2014.
In 2018 the General Assembly directed that the Congregation of Ballyclare & Doagh be placed under the superintendence of the Free Southern Presbytery, with the minister and a representative elder of the Kirk Session being entitled to seats on the Presbytery.
