Gospel Witness At Portree Square

Date: Saturday, 24 August 2013
Author: Rev Andrew R Allan

In seeking to fulfil the Great Commission in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ ministers from Skye and Lochcarron Presbytery again engaged in open air preaching at Somerled Square, Portree, on Saturday 24th August.

(Our thanks to Mrs. Ruth Ross, Portree, for the images)

Portree minister Rev Richard Ross and his Snizort counterpart the Rev Murdo Angus Macleod, were joined by members of Portree, Snizort, Bracadale and Duirinish (Waternish) congregations. Both ministers took it in turn to address the crowd milling around, while others engaged in conversations with visitors and locals and took the opportunity to distribute gospel tracts.

In a day when Gospel preaching is neglected, even among Reformed and evangelical brethren, it is encouraging to see our ministers and members seeking to be obedient to the Lord's commission.

It is now hoped that the Lord will add his blessing to their labours and that we would see signs following the preaching of his Word.TractDistributio41
