Some of those who had travelled a considerable distance to the recent Reformation Conference in Miranda were also able to visit Scotland for our General Assembly.

Those present at the Assembly on the Wednesday evening were encouraged to hear Dr Ruiz give an update on the work in Spain and France, while we also listened with rapt attention to Rev Garcia tell of the many small groups of believers in Colombia and over the border in Venezuela. Rev Jose Fernandez, though resident in Chicago, had encouraged folks from Costa Rica and Guatemala, as well as Latin Americans in the United States, to travel to Spain. His work is varied, shepherding sheep in many spread out places, while regularly teaching in an online Bible School. An added highlight at the Assembly was the presentation to our Moderator, Rev Bob McCurley, of an English language edition of a work on Exclusive Psalmody by Dr Ruiz, and by him in turn to our Spanish-speaking brethren of the same book in the Spanish language – the first ever such book in Spanish.

Pastor Fernandez has returned to Chicago, while Pastor Eliseo left to return with Pastor Ruiz to Spain where he is preaching over four Lord’s Days in Bilbao and Rubi, Barcelona, before he returns home. Pastor Eliseo spoke of his great encouragement and of his desire to thank everyone who had helped in any way to enable him to make this great journey. We are full of thanks for what the Lord is doing among Spanish-speaking believers. The Lord continues to amaze us with news of His ongoing work of grace which in His goodness He is allowing us to know from afar, through such contacts with these dear brethren. We have much to give thanks for, as the Lord helping us, we seek to continue in prayer.
