After a near four year vacancy, the Poolewe and Aultbea congregation now have a new minister after the Rev Murdo Maciver was ordained and inducted at a ceremony held in Gairloch Community Centre last Friday night.

Nearly 200 persons gathered from a wide area to join with the Inverness Presbytery and the congregation on the happy occasion.

The service was led by Rev James Clark, Greyfriars, Inverness, who preached an appropriate sermon from Acts 20:28.  Afterwards, the customary questions were put to Mr Maciver and he duly signed The Formula.  The new minister was addressed by Rev Davide Ratti, Duthil-Dores, while Rev Harry J T Woods, Beauly, addressed the congregation.

Following the Benediction most retired to the nearby Poolewe Village Hall for refreshments and fellowship.

Presentations were made to the new minister and his wife Joanne, the Interim Moderator Mr Woods and his wife Mairi, along with several others who helped during the time of vacancy.
