The Moderator of the 2020 General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) has sent a letter of condolence, on behalf of the denomination, to Her Majesty the Queen following the sad news of the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness had a remarkable record as Consort to her Majesty. For over 70 years he symbolised the dignity and stability of the British monarchy and has left an outstanding record of service and commitment to public duty.
Last November the Queen and Prince Philip completed 73 years of happily married life. Their marriage was a pattern of marriage as a creation ordinance under God and we are thankful for such an example at the highest level of national life.
The Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) commits the Queen and Royal Family to the Most High, praying that they will know, in the midst of their sorrow, the Lord’s blessing and consolation.
